Photos and creating space on iPhone

I have an iPhone 6s which is up to date with software IOS 10.0.2.

I will soon be setting off on a very special long haul flight to celebrate my big 70th birthday travelling from the north to the south of India.

I wish to keep a detailed photographic record of this exciting adventure on my iPhone.

How do I clear the pics which are already on the phone so that I have maximum storage without losing them. ideally I would like to set off with an empty phone.

Thank you

iMac (Retina 4K, 21.5-inch, Late 2015), iOS 9.2

Connect to your computer and transfer all photo's to there - Import photos and videos from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support Just be sure to then also backup the computer itself so you have a backup of your photo's.

Alternatively, offload them to a cloud based archive such as Dropbox (fees may apply if you exceed the limits of the free account).
